Methods

This study involved participants from the Netherlands Cohort Study, which followed men and women for 20 years to examine the relationship between diet and cancer. In this paper, investigators examined the association between consuming peanuts and tree nuts and developing lung cancer.

Key Findings: Results showed that both peanut and tree nut consumption were associated with a reduced risk of small cell carcinoma (a type of lung cancer) per 5g/day increment.
